Jean C. Palmer, 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Jean was born on November 7, 1945, in Joliet, Will County, Illinois, to Richard J. Flynn Sr. and Rose M. Flynn (Hummel). She spent many years in the Joliet area before moving to Lander, Wyoming, in 2001, where she became a cherished member of the community.
Jean had a lifelong love of staying active and creative. She enjoyed biking, swimming, knitting, and spending time outdoors. Even in retirement, Jean remained active as both a student and an assistant at Rummel Dance Studio, where she found great joy. In Lander, she attended First Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in classes offered through the Lander Senior Center.
Known affectionately as "Ms. Jean" or "Gammie" by many of Lander's children, Jean spent years providing preschool education at local daycares. Her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on countless young lives. Above all, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud Gammie who treasured her family.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Richard J. Flynn Sr. and Rose M. Flynn, and her sister, Patricia L. O'Brien.
She is survived by her husband, David Palmer; her sister, Marilyn Quas; her brothers, Richard (Elaine) Flynn, Patrick O'Brien, Thomas Flynn, and Daniel (Laurie) Flynn; her children, Michelle Mohler, Craig (Denise) Mohler, and Trisha Montez; as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom will deeply miss her love, guidance, and unwavering presence.
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Mount Hope at Hudson's Funeral Home (680 Mount Hope Drive, Lander, WY 82520) on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
