J.C. Sollars, 86, of Lander, Wyoming died on September 26, 2015, at the Morning Star Manor in Fort Washakie, Wyoming.Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander, Wyoming. Burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander.
J.C. Sollars was born March 15, 1929 to William A. Sollars and Nora A. Sollars (Priest) in Elsie, Perkins County, Nebraska.
J.C. graduated from Riverton High School in 1947 and received a Bachelor's Degree from Chadron State. He also received a Master's Degree from the University of Wyoming. He served in the US Army as a Unit Commander with an honorable discharge in 1954.He was married to his wife Maxine (Homec) on October 30, 1955. They lived in Morton, Wyoming until 1966 and then moved to Lander to raise their family.
During his time in Lander, J.C. was a strong supporter of Lander's Little League Baseball Program, the Wyoming State Winter Fair and also served on the school board for the Lander School District.He was a member of the Hudson VFW.
He was preceded in death by his Parents William Sollars and Nora Sollars and his brother Bill Sollars.
His survivors include his wife, Maxine Sollars and four children; J.D. Sollars, Rick Sollars (Monica), Pat Sollars (Claire) and Pam Caswell (D.C.).J.C. is also survived by 6 grandchildren including Tyson and Allyson Sollars, Paxton and Kendra Sollars and Jared and Bryce Caswell.
