Graveside services for James Edward Gustin will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August. 17 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander. Visitation will be Thurs.6:30-7:30 pm August. 16 at Hudson Funeral Home, Pastor Wayne King of Lander Independent Baptist Church officiating.
Mr. Gustin died Monday, August. 13, 2007 at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander, of which he entered September. 2006, and was 88 years old.
James was born November. 23, 1918 at the #3 mine in Hudson Wy. to William Thomas Gustin and Rita Laird, he was 2nd oldest of 10 children, James attended and graduated Fremont County Vocational High School.
August. 20, 1939 he and Mary Lee Wallace were wed at Roberts Mission, Ft. Washakie with Reverend Roberts officiating. In their early marriage they lived at Como Bluff, Rock River, then to Lander.
James worked for Wy. Game & Fish, Hudson's Upholstery, Major's Conoco, on week ends and during vacations James worked at the family dude ranch in Dickinson Park. James went to Casper to become a carpenter and cabinet maker, of which he worked until coming back to Lander to work at Quality Lumber as a cabinet maker. James ended his career as a building contractor around Lander.
James is survived by one daughter, Catherine Eatmon, and her husband Howard of Lander, one son J.R. Gustin and his wife Carol of Newcastle, Wy. Grandchildren Mike& Stacy Eatmon Roberta & Dallas Lynch, Becky & Tom Ferris, Rene & Mike Whitley. Great grand children Jacob, Jessie, Jena Eatmon, Madi Lynch, Nicholas & Beth Ferris, Kristen & Nicole Whitley. Brothers Bill, Raymond and sisters Bertie Wester, Margie Voss, and Deanna Hitchew.
James was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee of 67 years, parents, one brother George three sisters Phyllis White, Wilma Hudson and Patty
