Fremont County native James S. "Jimmy" Gaylord died at his home in Winnemucca, Nev., on Saturday, October. 2, 2010, at the age of 80, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. Cremation has taken place.
James Spencer Gaylord was born in Shoshoni on May 23, 1930, to Spencer and Lillian "Billie" Gaylord. He attended school in Lander and was graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander with the Class of 1948.
Mr. Gaylord enlisted with the U.S. Navy immediately following graduation from high school and retired from the Navy after 20 years of service.
He worked for Lander Glass and Mirror for many years.
Mr. Gaylord married Juanita Frakes in February of 1972.
His family said he liked to hunt, fish, and attend garage sales.
Mr. Gaylord is survived by three sisters, Roseanna Johnson of Boerne, Texas, Ina Jean Woltman of Torrington, and Catherine Gustin and her husband Raymond of Lander; step-sons, Donny and Bucky Frakes of Winnemucca, Nev.; numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; his parents; two brothers, Bob and Bruce Gaylord, and a step-daughter, Peggy Frakes.
