A celebration of James Calvert


James Calvert was born April 5, 1929 in Lander, WY.


A Memorial Service will be held on Wed December, 23, 2009 at 3:00pm at Hudson's Funeral Home.





James Calvert passed away in Lander early Friday morning on December 18, 2009 of a long illness.


He was the oldest son of Fred & Marian "Cleveland" Calvert.


James worked for the state building fence, US Steel and at the Lander sales barn, he also sheered sheep all though the state of WY. plus many other jobs.


He worked the Calvert ranch with his parents. James married Lucinda "Laue" Calvert on April 24, 1949. He remained working the ranch with his five children, Carolyn Apadaca, Rose Barrett, Ron Calvert, Carl Calvert, and Christina Calvert all of Lander, WY. and his four brothers and sister.


James & Lucinda also raised their great grandson Jordan Apadaca.  They have five grandkids: Cindy & Morgan Henry of Lander, WY., Jolynn & TJ Waters of Riverton, WY., Joey Apadaca of Riverton, WY., Leanne & Chris Miles of Lander, WY., CJ Barrett of Lander, WY., and Jacklynn & Brad Ray of CO.  They also have 17 great grandkids.


James loved to spend time with his family and friends hunting, fishing, and rock hunting.  He loved to teach all of us how to work on the ranch. He was always willing to help out anyone that needed it, even in his younger years.





James was survived by his brothers: Bill Calvert, Loren Calvert both from Lander,WY., Don & Dorthy Calvert of Hanna, WY., his sister-in-law Pat Calvert & his brother-in-law Claude Hitshew both of Lander, WY.





He will be laid to rest with his parents Fred & Marian "Cleveland" Calvert, brother Andy Calvert, sister Esther Hitshew, grand daughter Stacy Apadaca, and sister-in-laws Pat Calvert & Viola Calvert
