Irma Mae Groesbeck, 83, of Ethete WY passed away on April 21, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home in Ethete. A Visitation will be held at 5pm-9pm (Rosary to start at 7pm) on Tuesday, April 25th at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete; an All-Night Wake will follow at the family home located at 5 Farm Station Road in Ethete. Funeral Services will begin at 10am on Wednesday, April 26th at Blue Sky Hall with burial to follow at the Wallowing Bull Family Cemetery.
Irma Mae WallowingBull Groesbeck was born December 5, 1933 to Fred and Jane WallowingBull. She attended school at St. Michael's mission and St. Stephens. She married Felix Orlo Groesbeck Sr. November 10, 1960. She was a member of the Catholic Church, Chief Yellowcalf Memorial Club, Christmas Committee and Ethete Celebration Committee Labor Day Pow Pow. She also served as an election judge for the Northern Arapaho Tribe for many years. She worked as a Post Master, NA Utilities, and The Council of Elders. Her hobbies included sewing, reading books, going to the casino and she enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a foster parent to many. She was instrumental in preservation of the Northern Arapaho Language.
She is survived by daughters, Janie (Jim) Brown, Eleanor (Alvin) Brown, Cheryl (Owen) Rouland, Karen Returns To War, Helen Brown, Ramelda Panzetanga, and Kenzie (Charlie) Lopez; sons,Brian Groesbeck and Roland Yellowbear and Steve SunRhodes Sr.;sisters, Joyce Hutchinson and Sylvia Dewey, Gloria St. Clair; grandson, Dallas WallowingBull; adopted children, Andy (Myra) Vasquez, Dewayne Cady, Kirk (Calinda) Foolbull, Florence (Daryl) Hutchinson, John (Bernie) Gibbons, John Hollowbreast, Sandi (Pat) Ironcloud, Harvey (Wilma) Spoonhunter, Debbie Moss, Letitia American Horse, Shirley Reeder, Sharon Whiteman and Ava Glenmore. She raised Jessica Ronan and Alex Whiteplume, Francinda and Diane Wallowing Bull.She had 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by the Brown, WallowingBull, White, Amos, Smith and Dewey Families.
She is preceded in death by her husband Felix O. Groesbeck Sr.; parents, Fred and Jane Wallowing Bull; sons, Felix "Shorty" Groesbeck Jr., Clayton Groesbeck, Aloysius WeaselBear; sisters, Vivian "Lucy," Elizabeth "Pearl," Emma Jane and Agnes WallowingBull, Beatrice Longvisitor Holy Dance WeaselBear; brothers, Jo Pat, Daniel Francis and Clayton WallowingBull, Carla and Joan White, Pat and Mary Jean, Pat Nolan and Magpie WallowingBull; and numerous nieces and nephews.
