Glenn Wilbur "Billy" Cox
Born September 13, 1924 to Wilbur (Bill) E. and Addie (Knight) Cox, at the family home south of Weskan, Wallace County, Kansas. He died in Lander, Wyoming on May 3, 2010 at the age of 85.
Billy married his high school sweetheart, Vivian I. Okeson, on June 1, 1945. While living and working in the Weskan/Sharon Springs area, he started working at the local Foster Lumber Company and was then transferred to Oak Creek, Colorado, to manage the Foster Yard there. In 1959 they were transferred to Arriba, Colorado, to manage the Foster yard. In 1963 they purchased the Arriba yard and in 1966 they purchased the Hugo yard. Continuing to work in those communities until Vivian's death in 1990.
In March 1993 he was married to Gladys Mobrary until her death in 1995. Bill then moved back to Sharon Springs for a short while before moving to Lander, Wyoming.
Bill enjoyed going to breakfast and various outings with his friends and neighbors in Lander. It didn't matter whether he was in the hospital recuperating, or would just meet you on the street, he was your friend when you left. All anyone had to do, was to suggest somewhere to go, something to do, or somewhere to eat and Bill was ready.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Vivian, four brothers, Ralph, Delbert, Ronnie, and Don. Brothers-in-law, Emery Okeson, Arnold Okeson, and Hilmer Okeson, and Dale Schmidt.
He is survived by his son, Glenn Cox and wife Marilyn, their sons Casey and Travis, daughter, Debbie and husband John Larsen, their daughters Camille Larsen, Deanna Cobb and her husband Tony, two great –granddaughters, Tiffany and Chanteal Cobb.
