Gilbert L. Delozier

Gilbert L. "Gil" DeLozier, 79, of Lander, Wyoming died on July 21, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Sinks Canyon, Lander, Wyoming.
Gilbert was born November 16, 1935 to Sherman DeLozier and Pauline (Girardin) DeLozier in Magnet, Cedar County, Nebraska.
Gilbert attended school in Magnet, NE and graduated high school in 1953. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1954, and served in Japan and South Korea; he was honorably discharged in October 1955 and was an Army Reservist for 8 years following. Gilbert received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal during his active service.
Gilbert married Sharon E. (Johnson) DeLozier on May 4, 1958. They had two sons, Michael who was born December 30, 1962 and James who was born July 20, 1964. Gilbert went on to own and operate successful construction businesses in Fort Collins, CO and later in Lander, WY. Gilbert and his family moved to Lander in 1971. He and Sharon have lived there since.
Gilbert loved hunting and most especially fishing, making many trips in and around the Wind River Mountains to enjoy casting for large trout.Gilbert was an outstanding husband and father; he gave of himself to his community and church. Gilbert was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 40 years in Lander and served in many capacities. He was loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon DeLozier; sons, Michael DeLozier and James (Diane) DeLozier; brother,Howard (LouAnn) DeLozier of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Darlene (Robert) Brummels of Elkhorn NE; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
