Geraldine Samietz

Geraldine Samietz, 92, Lander, WY passed away on April 19, 2024, in the comfort of her home with family at her side.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, the 22 of April, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lander, Wyoming.

Gerry Samietz was born on July 10, 1931, to John Matiba and Lillian (Hill) Matiba in Superior, WY.

She will be remembered fondly for her kindness, unmatched cooking, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed.

Gerry loved to spend time in the mountains and Wyoming deserts and to enjoy the company of friends and family.

Gerry was preceded in death by her husband John Samietz Jr.; two children, Patricia and Paul Samietz; her parents, John and Lillian Matiba; and her brother, Frank Matiba.

Survivors include sister, Lillian June Buh; son, Frank Samietz; daughters, Janice Jones and Joni Samietz; granddaughter, Deja Jones; grandsons, Jessup, Toby, Leon Jones, and Sky Slafter; great-granddaughter, Mary J. Jones who helped care for her along with Cyanne Jones, Jeri, and Shayleena Slafter; great-grandsons, Jacoby, JayQuin, Jessup Jones Jr.; and two great-great-grandchildren.
