Gerald Arvid Moats, 79 of Shoshoni, Wyoming passed away on August 24, 2021 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

Gerald A. Moats was born on January 13, 1942 to Wayne A. and Margaret Moats in Lagrange, Wyoming.

After graduating high school, Gerald went on to Casper College where he received an Electrician degree.  Gerald worked in the coal mines for many years at various location throughout the state. Gerald was an avid sportsman with a passion for being outside weather it be the lake fishing or in the mountains. Later in life, he developed a passion for rock hunting and geology.

Gerald was proceeded in death by his parents, Wayne and Margaret Moats; a sister Carol Anesi, brother-in-law Dave Anesi and a few close friends.

Gerald is survived by two nephews, Cory (Sarah) Anesi and Lawrence (Kelli) Anesi and numerous great nieces and nephews; his closest friends Mike and Jeanie Larsen and John and Cheryl Jones.

The family would like to thank the Larsen family for all of their help during this difficult time.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, 2:00 PM at the Museum of the American West Livery Stable.  Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander, Wyoming.
