Gerald C. (Savoy) Heinrich died September 20, 2014 at the Help for Health Hospice in Riverton, Wyoming. There will be no service at this time. A memorial service will be held in the Spring at the Wyoming Downs Race Track.
Gerald C. (Savoy) Heinrich was born March 21, 1939 in Grove, Kansas to Glenn and Anna Heinrich. Jerry finished High School in Scott City, Kansas and moved to Denver. Jerry, being a very talented vocalist/musician, continued with his musical career. During his time in Denver, Colorado he went to Nashville and cut five records, then to Hollywood where he cut another record. Jerry played in all the major clubs in Denver and was a noted Elvis performer being known as Denver's Elvis.
In 1976 Jerry moved to Lander, and worked for the City of Lander Street Department for 26 years. During that period he played in the Westerner Band along with Andy Palmer, Marlene Young, Bob Robertson and Howard Macy. Jerry became very interested in Horse Racing, along with Marlene Young. They ran quarter Horses in Idaho, Colorado, South Dakota and Wyoming for many years.Having 8 State Champions over the years.
Jerry was a great person, loved by everyone who knew him and he is a loss to Country music and Wyoming horse racing.
Jerry is survived by his sister Shirley Shearmire,Granbury, Texas, Shirley's daughters and their children, numerous relatives in Wyoming and Utah, and his companion/partner of 38 years Marlene Young of Lander.
