George West Shakespeare "Heeyei Cebkohut"-Running Hawk, was born 12/03/36 to Elizabeth Underwood and West Shakespeare in Fort Washakie, Wyoming.He grew up in Ethete, Wyoming in the Catholic faith.He joined the US Air Force in 1957 completing basic training at Lackland Air Base, Texas,advanced training in Springfield, Illinois, and became a jet engine mechanic in Portsmouth, New Hampshire where he honorably discharged in 1960.
Traditional Wake services will be on Monday, June 8th at 7:00P at 746 Whitehawk Drive, Ethete, Wyoming,Funeral Services will follow on Tuesday, June 9th at 10:00 at the Blue Sky Hall, Ethete, Wyoming.Burial will be at the Shakespeare Cemetery with full military honors.
George is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Steve) Sun Rhodes Sr., of Riverton. Grandchildren – Leona (Troy) Timbana, Levi (Miranda) Monroe Sr, Ryan Monroe Sr., Leo W. (Eva) Monroe, and Whitney Sun Rhodes. Great-grandchildren – Shaelynn Yeliowhair, Kenan Monroe, Kailyn, and Tae'onna Timbana, Jenetta Antelope, Adrianne, Julianna, Navaeh, Alanna, and Levi Monroe Jr.Stepdaughter Mary Headley and Family.Brother:Bobby Shakespeare, Alfred and Hubert Redman, Marty, John, and Jerome Underwood.Sisters: Lucy Willow, Alvina Oldman, Anita Hungary, Alene Shakespeare, Amelia Underwood, Lettie Shakespeare, Ruth Mary Goggles, Jessie Spoonhunter, Bernice Watan, Delight O'Neal, Audrey, Jody, Patricia, Kay, Alicia, Gerry, and Becky Underwood, Mary Cowboy, and Martha Brown. Nephews: Cedric, RJ, Darrell, Jim, Bucky, and Charlie.Nieces: Sarah, Lizzie, Francene, Vickie, Vernita, and Lynelle. All the family members from the Shakespeare, Underwood, Redman, Willow, Littleshield, Ridgely, and Spoonhunter families.Special Family from South Dakota, and Oklahoma. George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ella Mae Headley, Son: Mike Spoonhunter, brothers, Big Rock, Michael, and Johnny.Sisters: Lydia, Mary Christine, and Maria.Grandchildren: Wardena and Dwight Spoonhunter.George enjoyed going to the Casino on Senior Day, attending family dinners, and share his life stories with nephews and nieces.
