Genevieve Lorraine (Trent) Fuller passed away at the age of 100 at the hospital in Phoenix, AZ where she was living with her son and daughter-in-law.
Gen was born on March 19, 1913 in Bottineau, North Dakota.She was the youngest of 13 children born to Henry Marshall Trent and Clara Mae (Askew) Trent.
She graduated from High School in Bottineau at the age of 16.At the age of 19 she went to live with her sister in Kewanee, Illinois where she attended nursing school, helped her sister with her children and worked as a registered nurse.In 1943 she moved to Lander to be near another of her sisters and went to work at Bishop Randall Hospital.
In 1948 she eloped with Raymond Fuller of Lander, who worked at the Post Office.She continued her nursing career until 1950 when the first of their two children were born.She became a "stay at home mom" until 1964 when she again entered the field of nursing.She worked at the local hospital until her retirement in 1977.
In her retirement years she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.She donated countless hours to the Methodist Thrift Shop where she enjoyed the company of old and new friends.She cared for animals, especially cats, and entertained visiting family and relatives every summer.She remained an avid crossword puzzle fan and Scrabble player until the end.
Gen was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 2009.She is survived by her two children Patricia Anderson and David Fuller, daughter in-law Jill Fuller, five grandchildren; Ben Anderson, Amy McGregor, Chris Fuller, Corrie Pankow, Nick Fuller and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander, Wyoming on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Lander, 262 N. 3rd Street. A visitation will also be held 45 minutes preceding the funeral.Graveside services will follow.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Lander United Methodist Church for the kitchen remodel or to the Lander Children's Museum
