Fredric John Latinis

Fredric John Latinis passed away on December 25, 2024, at his home in Lander, Wyoming. He lived in Lander, Wyoming for over 70 years. He was born on January 22, 1936, to Marcel and Cleva Latinis in Hudson, Wyoming. He was one of three sons.

Fred married the love of his life, Shirley Timmons, on June 8, 1974, at the wedding chapel in the Lander Museum. Fred had two children and gained four more when he married Shirley.

Fred worked for Fremont Motors as an autobody repairman in his younger adult life and then he started his own autobody shop and named it Northside Body Shop in March of 1972. In June of 1998 he sold Northside Body shop. Fred and Shirley then opened Happy Hocker Pawn Shop in July of 1998. In 2018 Fred and Shirley sold Happy Hocker Pawn Shop and retired.

Fred enjoyed bowling and golfing, and he was a lifelong member of the Lander Elks Lodge and was a past Exalted Ruler. He was also a dedicated fireman and past fire chief. He was a Broncos season ticket holder and loved going to the Broncos games in Denver.  He loved to travel, and he and Shirley visited all fifty states in their lifetime together. He and Shirley would travel to the Indianapolis 500 for several years in a row. He then became an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed watching Nascar races.

Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his brother Gary Latinis, his parents, and his stepson, Mark Timmons. Fred is survived by his daughter Tucker Latinis, son Troy (Kathy) Latinis; stepchildren, Mike (Michele) Timmons, Pamela (Jeff) Conine, Patricia (Ken) Stern and brother Gib (Irene) Latinis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Taylor Latinis, Brianne Latinis O'Connor, Jacob Latinis, Cody Jacks, Michael Jacks, Taylor Stern, Andrew Stern, and numerous great grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Fred will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Lander Elks Lodge from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  Food will be served. All are welcome to attend.
