Frank Faust Keiser, of Lander, Wyoming died peacefully on April 7, 2016 at Westward Heights Care Center.Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Lander Elks Lodge located at the corner of 5th and Lincoln Street (492 Lincoln St.) in Lander, Wyoming.
Frank Faust Keiser was born July 10, 1928 to Earl Franklin Keiser and Edith Mae Faust Keiser in Reading PA.
After graduating High School Frank joined the Air Force and was stationed at F.E. Warren AFB.Frank served as an instructor in telephone communications, specializing in Central Office Engineering and Switching Technologies.During his Air Force tour in Cheyenne, Frank met Mitzi Woerner who was also working at the base; they were married June 16, 1951. Frank was Honorably Discharged from the Air Force a few months later, August 1951.
When Frank was discharged from the Air Force, his first job would be installing television antennas, a relatively new technology.At that time, the only television station was in Denver, Colorado – over 100 miles from Cheyenne, which meant for large antennas! Frank also worked for Surety Life Insurance. Frank and Mitzi moved to Lander, briefly, in 1954 where Frank would work with Brasel and Sims, running a backhoe for early uranium exploration in the Gas Hills, returning to Cheyenne when the contracts were finished.
In 1958, Frank accepted a job with Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph in Lander as a Lineman.Frank's career would advance to Central Office Manager, whereby he was responsible for the primary phone service in Lander and surrounding areas.Frank maintained several communication microwave sites within 150 mile radius of Lander.Regardless of weather conditions, it was Frank's top priority to ensure that the residents of Lander had telephone service!Frank was also on the crew that installed the first toll line over Togwotee Pass and the line into Louis Lake Lodge. Frank was responsible for installing the communications into the Rockefeller House, Jackson, Wyoming.This residence was created as an alternate White House at the time and the crews were changed frequently for security reasons.
Frank retired from Mountain Bell after 28 years as a central office repairman.After a year and a half he decided to try his hand at Real Estate. Frank was a very successful at Real Estate for another 23 years and retired as an associate broker.
Frank loved to take the motor home and boat out with Mitzi and fish at Bull Lake where they spent many season opening days. Frank was an avid outdoorsman, trapping, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl F. Keiser and his mother, Edith Faust Keiser; brothers, Sterling, Earl, Stewart; and sister, Virginia.
Survivors include his wife Mitzi; sons, John Keiser, Mark Keiser (Patricia), and Brad Keiser; grandchildren, Tatum Hall (Damian), Tyne J. Hernandez (Sam),Stuart Lowe, KatherineKnights, Lisa Tucker. Great-grandchildren, Samuel Hernandez, Isabell Hernandez and Adrianna Hall.
