Frances "Frankie" Wight, 89, of Lander, WY, died on September 8, 2016 in her home with her husband and daughter by her side.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2016 at 10:00am in Hudson's Funeral Home, Chapel of Mount Hope, Lander; followed by a graveside service at Mount Hope Cemetery.A visitation and viewing will be held Wednesday September 14 from 5:00-7:00pm.
Frankie was born September 21, 1926 to Benjamin Otis Wallace and Myrtie Lee (Claxton) Wallace in Wind River, WY. She was the 8th of 9 children. She attended school and helped her father on their farm herding sheep.
Frankie was married to Donald Guy Wight on November 2, 1951, just two day before Don had to leave for the military for Korea. After he served in Korea for a year, Frankie and Don moved to Denver, CO where they made a home there for several years. It was there that they had their daughter, Claudette, in 1956. Shortly after Claudette was born, they moved California, and then eventually made it back to Lander in 1960, where they stayed until her death.
Frankie was a Homemaker. She was also a part of the Relief Society in the Mormon Church for several years. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers, and she loved to bowl. She especially loved to care for her daughter, grandchildren, and then her great-grandchildren.
Frankie is survived by her husband, Don; their daughter Claudette (Jim) Kimsey; her brother Benjamin (Kay) Wallace; her Grandchildren, Crystal (Blake) Holden, Kristie (James) Stuart, Christopher (Sarah) Kimsey, Howard "William" Kimsey, Jimmy (Jenny) Kimsey, Andrew (Danyel) Kimsey, Travis Kimsey; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Ben and Myrtie (Claxton) Wallace; her previous husband Robert Rancher, and their 9 month old son, Robert Jr.; her older siblings, JB (Lillian then Frances) Wallace, "Baby Brother" Wallace, Ellen (Elmer) Darlington, Bertie (Albert) Laird, Pauline (Argyle) Rose, Mallie (Neal) Long, Mary (Jim) Gustin, Jewel (Elmer) Yankey; and several nieces and nephews.
