Evelyn Bunker, 80, of Lander died at the Help for Health Hospice Home on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Cremation has taken place , at her request no service will be held. Inurnment will take place in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Evelyn Eilene Bunker was born onMarch 14, 1934 in Lander to Alvin and Neva F. (Hennessey) Hallam. She was the only daughter. She had five brothers. She grew up on the family farm on Squaw Creek, and attended the local schools in Lander.
Evelyn married Levi H. Bunker on February 15, 1955. They celebrated their 59th anniversary this last February. Early in their marriage Evelyn followed her husband, as he was an oil field worker. They lived many years in different Wyoming and Colorado towns.
The family moved back to Lander in the 1960's. They were foster parents for several years. They adopted three of the children that were in their care. Evelyn helped her brothers by caring for their children when they needed help while they were working. She also helped with her grand daughter and great-granddaughter. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn entered the work field when her children grew older. She worked at the Lander Hospital in the kitchen, at the Westward Heights Nursing Home, and Wyoming State Training School as an aide. She really loved and cared for the residents that she worked with there.
Evelyn is survived by husband, Levi H. Bunker; daughter, Sally Fitzgerald; daughter, Valentine (Mark) Knutson; son, Patrick Bunker; grandchildren, Lisa Scott, Tanya (Justin) Yardas, Levi (Amber) Fitzgerald, Cabrina (Corey) Murdock; brothers, Phillip (Charlotte) Hallam, Frank (Judy) Hallam; numerous nieces and nephews of the Hallam and Bunker families.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Neva (Hennessey) Hallam; brothers, George, Ralph, and Earl Hallam; and grandson, Tyrel Levi Hallett.
