Ethel Elane Hancock (Speyer) formally of Lander died Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyoming. She was 83 years old.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Hudson's Funeral Home
in Lander. Grave side services to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Elane was born March 6, 1929 in Rawlins. She spent most of her childhood in Baroil with her two sisters and brother. She went through beauty school in Casper.
On October 26, 1945 she married Dale Hancock a local rancher in the Lander area. They lived on the Hancock Family Ranch on Willow Creek Road south of Lander. They raised four boys: Dale Jr. "Gus", James "J.J.", Eugene "Frank" "Tibo" and Charles "C.C."
Elane worked as a beautician for 62 years in Lander.In 2005 Elane and Dale sold their family
ranch on Willow Creek and moved to Basin, Wyoming.
Elane enjoyed her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included outdoor activities such as: hunting, fishing and working on the ranch. She was very talented when it came to sewing, knitting and crocheting. Elane loved making beautiful gifts for family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, son Dale Jr. and his wife Shari, son J.J. and his wife Charlette, son Frank and his wife Renee, son Charles, 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and her sisters Martha and Darlene.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Marjorie Speyer, her brother Charles and her grandson Jesse.
