Elsie Mae Carroll

Elsie Mae Carroll passed away on July 15, 2010 at the age of 93. She was born to Annie and Thomas Letchworth on September. 30, 1916 in Tuscunbia,Alabama. She was raised in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee She came to Wyoming to the Lusk area in the 1930s where she went to work and joined her brothers George and Warren who were employed as horse breakers and ranch hands on the Boner Ranch. While in the Lusk Area she met and married David Carroll. She then moved to San Diego Ca.. During World War II she worked in the aircraft factory's building airplanes. She settled back in the Hudson, Lander


area in 1958. She was employed at the Lander Safeway as a checker for 21 years. She retired in 1979.


She enjoyed traveling to Arizona in the winter and spending time with her sister in law and friend Marguerite Backer. She enjoyed her children and grand children and many friends, her flowers and reading. She in preceded in death by her parents one sister, Vina Carson, Brothers William, George, Warren, And Evert Letchworth. Her long time friend Marguerite


Backer. One son William E. Carroll and husbands David Carroll and George Meyers.


She is Survived by her oldest son Jim and wife Cindy, Gary and wife Terri, daughter Debra Weston and husband Sam , Grand Children Taylor, Bradi, Huelle, Guy Carroll, Christina Leseberg, Lance Carroll and numerous great grand children, nephew and nieces.





The services will be held at the grave site at the Hudson Cemetery at 10:00 am July 22, 2010 with Rev. Sally Bud officiating, under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander, WY. Food and beverages will be provided at the Hudson town hall By the Hudson home makers following the services.
