Elise passed on May 07, 2016 in Casper, WY.Wake services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 7:00 pm at the Wesaw residence at 24 Sand Hills Road, Lander, WY.Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Shoshone-Episcopal Mission in Fort Washakie, WY.Burial will be held at the Sacajawea Cemetery, followed by a feast at Shoshone-Episcopal Mission.
Elise "Kim" Wesaw, born November 19, 1959 to Elias and Iona Ute of Fort Washakie, WY. where she spent most of her life.Kim attended Wyoming Indian High School and Central Wyoming College.She grew up raising horses with her family.On June 4, 1983, she married Glenn Wesaw Sr. in Fort Washakie, Wyoming, together they had three children.
She worked as a cook at numerous places, including Fort Washakie Elementary School, Warm Valley Senior Center, Morning Star Care Center and the Eastern Shoshone Entertainment Committee.Kim loved to cook and spend time with her family.She loved the Wind River Mountains, where she indulged in hunting, fishing, camping and hiking.Kim was very fond of long road trips with her family.Her other hobbies included playing bingo/casino, watching western movies and regularly attending family gatherings, powwows and the Shoshone Sundance.
Elise is survived by her husband Glenn Wesaw Sr; daughters Shanna Wesaw and Rachelle Wesaw; son Glenn Wesaw Jr of Sand Hills, WY; stepchildren, Lisa Wesaw and Family, Manuel Wesaw and Family, Shane Wesaw and Family; grandson, Redsun St. John; siblings Ramona Compton (Delwayne) of Casper, WY, Colleen Anderson, Phoebe Ute-Wilson and Preston Tindall, and sister-in-law Irvina Histia and Lorena Four Souls; nieces/nephews, Lindsey Ute and family of Oregon, Sydney Wilson, Randall Wilson III and family, Nicole Anderson, Terrence Anderson and family of Casper, WY, Emery Tindall, Justin Tindall, Aaron Tindall, Danielle Tindall, Nathaniel Sorrels and family, Daphne Compton and family, Delwayne Compton Jr.; aunts/uncles, Angeletta Shoyo, Joyce Posey, Carmen Thomas, Curtis Moon and in-law Marion Ute; other relatives include, Josh Ute, Carolyn Shoyo, Adrissa Underwood and Family, Rubena Tillman and family, Alice Posey, Bonnie Ainsworth, Tanna Dickens, as well as the Timbana Family, Mann Family, Hebah Family and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elias and Iona Ute; brother Forrest D. Ute; paternal grandparents Helmer Ute and Emma Ann Panzetenga-Ute; maternal grandparents, Nettie Timbana and William Tarness; uncles, Harrison Shoyo Jr. and Newman Ute; other relatives include, Gary Moon Sr. Shannon Hurtado, Joshua Hurtado, Leona Moon, Kerry Moon, Chris Moon, Nathaniel Moon and Kelly Shoyo.
