Dudley D. Doebele, 89, of Lander, Wyoming, died on May 25, 2025, in the beautiful State of Wyoming. A Memorial Service is PENDING.

Dudley was born on August 17, 1935, to Clayton and Zelma (Jones) Doebele in Morrowville, Kansas. He graduated from High school in Elmwood, Nebraska, in 1953. He played D1 basketball at the University of Nebraska, playing against Wilt Chamberlin from the University of Kansas. Where he was shoved around by Wilt.

Dudley has served in the United States Army for 2 years, then became a manager for the JCPenney Company, after getting his BA in Education from the University of Nebraska. After having 2 sons (Mike in 1960 and Mark in 1962), he worked with JCPENNEY Company until retirement in 1995, both in Riverton and Lander, Wyoming. He loved his job.

He married Marlys Elaine (Rockney) Doebele in August of 1958. They lived in Lander, Wyoming, when they became grandparents when Maxell Jordan was born on September 16, 1990. After that, Mark (Mindy) Masters had Teron Mark Doebele and Taya Grace Doebele. Cory Smith was his step-grandson.

Dudley was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Zelma; brother, Bryce Doebele; and sisters, Shara (Stock) Doebele; son, Michael Doebele.

He is survived by sisters, Donna (Wade) Doebele of Weeping Water, Nebraska; son, Mark (Mindy) Doebele; grandchildren, Max Doebele, Teran Doebele, Taya Doebele, Cory Smith, Jaxen Doebele, Fischer Doebele, Sylvia Smith, and Truman Smith.
