Dorothy Marie Wilson, 75, passed away Sunday evening, October 14, 2012. Dorothy is survived by her 7 children, 1 sister, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born on June 11, 1937 in Paxton, NE to Glenn and Nela Cox. She lived on the family farm in Nebraska before moving to Wyoming, where she and her family had homes in Laramie and later, Pavillion. They eventually moved to Lander where Dorothy, her parents and sister, lived and worked at the Fremont Motel. Dorothy attended Fremont County Vocational High School and graduated in 1955. She worked for Riverton Valley Electric before marrying Thomas Fred Wilson on June 5, 1957.
As a devoted mother, Dorothy raised her 7 children and helped work the family farm on Lyons Valley and later on North Second Street. Of all her accomplishments, Dorothy's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun and family values. She leaves all her children, grandchildren and sibling with the knowledge that they were truly loved.
Dorothy's survivors include children, Doug and Valorie Wilson, Sherrie and Fred Cox, Janet and Kevin Hart, Kayelene and Mark Heller, Linda and Pat Heller, Jarrett and Beth Wilson, Amy and Casey Haase and her sister Evelyn Gustin. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas F. Wilson, parents Glen and Nela Cox, sister Eileen Pickinpaugh, brothers Ralph Cox and William Cox, as well as 2 granddaughters.
Services were held at 10:00 am, on October 18th and Hudson's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be left with the family for a charity of their choice.
