Dorothy Edna Connell died October 26, 2010 in Lander at Westward Heights. Visitation will be Friday, October 29, 2010 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service which will start at 11:00 am. Both the Visitation and Funeral Service will be in the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander.
Dorothy Stoll Connell
Born July 12, 1913 in Buris Wyoming at home. Her parents were Betty Finch and John Stoll. She had 10 siblings, Hector Stoll, Ester Nowlin, John (Bunny) Stoll, Alice Peterson, Landis (Booze) Stoll, Alma Stoll, George (Bear) Stoll, Martha (Mick) Miller, and Jim Stoll all proceeded her in death and survived by sisiter Evelyn LeDesky.
Dorothy attended an all girls Indian School at Fort Washakie, Wyoming.
She married Richard Emmett Connell June 30, 1933 and they had 10 children. They started their family in Crowheart, Wyoming. Dorothy then began bringing the children to live in Lander to attend school and would take them back to Crowheart for the weekends, eventually bought a ranch and moved to Sinks Canyon.
Dorothy was proceeded in death by her husband Emmett, her daughter Colleen, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Dorothy was the oldest surviving member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.
