Donas Eilene Schwab "Nany", 97, of Lander, WY, died on July 1st, 2025, in her home in Lander, WY, surrounded by loved ones.
Donas Eilene "Nany" Schwab was born on October 9th, 1927, to William D. Ross and Reaffa D. Sims in Sheridan, Sheridan County, Wyoming.

Donas "Nany" graduated from high school in Guernsey, Wyoming, in 1946. She was a head maid and housekeeper for many years. She also worked on the family ranch locally on Baldwin Creek Road. Nany lived in Guernsey, Torrington, Lusk, and later moved to Lander in the mid-'60s.

Nany participated in cheerleading and tap dance, and she even started law school, but stopped to take care of her sick mother. Nany loved making clothes for her family and always had an eye for fashion. She could crochet and had a green thumb. She loved spending time with friends and family and enjoyed cooking for everyone.

Donas was married on June 15th, 1946, to Donald J. Schwab in Guernsey, Wyoming.

Our wonderful Nany patented a popcorn ball mold in the late 1950s, and she should have owned stock in Publisher's Clearing House, as she was always involved in any way she could be. She loved her sweets, especially cookies. Our Nany was always so sassy and very ornery. We love and miss our Nany so very much.

Donas is preceded in death by both her parents; her sisters, Pug and Donna Kay; her in-laws; her great-granddaughter, Chelsea Radiger; her great friend, Harry Palmenter; and her beloved dogs, Candy and Bubbles.

She is survived by Linda (Harold) Sturman – Lander, Cindy Stephenson – Lander, Charity Sturman – Lander, Ben (Rebecca) Sturman – Tucson, Arizona, Bill (Kate) Sturman – Stevensville, Texas, Amanda (Ronald) Bush – Lander, Kristie (Derrick) Kesy – Grand Junction, Colorado; and several great-grandchildren: Tiffany, Tasia (John) Juoni, Kelsie (Zach), Preston, Kaiden, Kinzleigh, Tiffany E., Cody, Lexi, Melissa; and several great-great-grandchildren: Riley, Caleb, Tatum, Dani, Kathryn, Easton, Lukas, Lee, and Kaiden; and so many other family members including Denny Stephenson; and many friends; and her little lap buddy, Peanut!

She has 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

We would like to say a special thank you to our mom/grandma/aunt Cindy Stephenson for devoting her life to taking care of our Nany as she grew older until she took her last breath. Thank you, and we love you!

Nany, we will love you and miss you forevermore. Your sassy, spunky spirit will forever be remembered.
