Donald Guy Wight, 93, of Lander, Wyoming died in Lander on July 16, 2024.

Donald G. Wight, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024, at Sage West Hospital in Lander, Wyoming.

A Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 25, 2024, in the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Drive, Lander, Wyoming 82520. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, July 26, 2024, also in Hudson's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander, Wyoming.

Donald was born in Shoshone, Wyoming, in 1930. He grew up in the scenic landscapes of Wyoming, where he developed a deep appreciation for nature and a strong work ethic that would define his life. Donald's early years were filled with the simple pleasures of rural life, and he carried those cherished memories throughout his lifetime.

In 1948, Donald was part of the State Championship football team for Lander High School, a historic achievement as it remains the only state championship the school has ever won. His love for football stayed with him throughout his life, and he enjoyed watching college football on Saturdays, sharing the excitement of the game with family and friends.

Donald proudly served his country as a veteran of the Korean War. His service and dedication to his nation were a testament to his character and sense of duty.

Donald was a dedicated and hardworking man, spending much of his career as a respected member of the local community. He was known for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His life was a testament to the values of honesty, diligence, and compassion.

In his leisure time, Donald enjoyed fishing, hiking, and sharing stories with loved ones. His warm and generous spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Donald is survived by his loving family, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Though he has left this world, his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. A memorial service to celebrate Donald's life will be held at Hudson's Funeral Home on Friday, July 26th, 2024 at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Donald's name to a charity of your choice.

Donald's family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Sage West Hospital for their compassionate care and support during his final days. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
