Donald Vircks

Donald F. Vircks was born May 26, 1929 to Herman & Ida (Amacher) Vircks. His step mother Ella helped to raise him.

In 1954 Donald married Mary Obscherning they bought the family farm and farmed it for 10 years. They moved to Riverton in 1964 to fly airplanes. He started Lander Airways in 1965 in Lander, and worked there for six and one half years. He also divorced in 1970.

After Lander Airways he opened Vircks Photography then worked at various jobs, later driving truck for a family friend in Wisconsin. His last employment was with Hudson's Funeral Home working as a driver.

Survivors include 2 children from his first marriage, Gwen of Riverton, and Kurt (Chris) of Casper; two grandchildren, Amy & Gregory of Casper; sister, Delores Lips of Fairbault, Minnesota; also many cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephews, and step-children.

Preceding him in death were his parents, step mother, ex-wife Norma Martin, several aunts and uncles, a nephew, several cousins, and a step-son.

A Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Tim Sersen of the Faith Lutheran Church. The service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, July 7, 2008 in the Hudson's Funeral Home, Chapel of Mount Hope.

His final wish was to be cremated and his remains buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander.
