Donald Wayne Treese of Hudson died early Thursday morning, August 25, 2011, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.He was 79.Viewing will be at the Hudson Town Hall at 1:00, Monday August 29, 2011, with services following at 2:00.Graveside services will be at the Hudson City Cemetery, immediately after the services.
Don was born on May 29, 1932 in Wilcox, Missouri the last of four children to William McKinley Treese and Gladys Margarette (Alloway) Treese.He married Myrna Loy Felt and they had three children, Peggy Annette Owens; Vicky Lynn Treese; and Karen Kay Spencer.They were later divorced.
Don grew up in Missouri where he worked as a ranch hand before enlisting in the Army at the age of 15.After being honorably discharged, he moved to Wyoming where he met his wife of 54 years, Carol Ann Meeks.They were married in Rawlins, Wyoming on January 18, 1957.There were six children born to this union.
They moved to Lander in 1965, where he worked for US Steel and owned a milk delivery business.Then they moved to Hudson in 1976, where they built and operated their own gas station.
Don was a member of the Jaycees and the Odd Fellows.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, skiing, and camping.He was happiest when spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Don was survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Rocky Treese and wife Linda; Rick Treese and wife Linda; of Riverton and Reggie Treese and wife Gwen of Thermopolis; daughters Peggie Owens of Wathena, Kansas and Karen Spencer of Trenton, Missouri; Dee Dee Springfield and husband Tim; Debbie Rivera of Riverton and Lisa Aragon and husband Anthony of Holbrook, Arizona.27 grandchildren,Lona Lynn, Jason, Wes, Mike, Tammy, Peter, Patrick, Josh, Brandon, Levi, Jessie, Brittney, Jenni, Amber, Ryan, Shawn, Bralli, Lindsey, Kerri, Ashley, Adrian, Scott, Amanda, Gabrielle, A.J., and Erin; adopted grandson Michael; 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchild; sister Beulah Rodgers; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and step-mother, Ethyl Treese; daughter Vicky Treese; grandson Jacob Rivera; sister, Frances Nash; brother, William Treese; son-in-law, Jesse Owens.
