Dansyl Fred Posey

Funeral services for Dansyl Fred Posey Sr. are at 10 a.m. on Thursday March. 3, at the Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie with Harrison Shoyo, Jr., and Arlen Shoyo, Sr., officiating.
Burial is at the Chief Washakie Cemetery at Fort Washakie.
Mr. Posey visitation will start at 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday March 2, at the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander, with evening prayer service starting at 7 p.m..
Mr. Posey died February 27, at the Wyoming Retirement Home, Basin, WY, at the age of 71.
Dansyl Posey Sr. was born on August 18, 1939, to Ernest and Iva (Nacota) Posey in Fort Washakie, WY,. He attended school in Fort Washakie, and served in the Unites States Army. He married Ruth Arthur in 1959 and they had 4 children. They later divorced. He married Shirley (Tassitsie) Posey on December 28, 1973. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic, Sho Rap firefighter, and a variety of construction jobs. He was a single engine pilot, a sun dancer, and he enjoyed his many friends and relatives.
Mr. Posey Sr. is survived by wife Shirley (Tassitsie) Posey, children, Dansyl Posey Jr., Bender Posey Nacota, Darren Posey, Lola Nipwater, Iva Posey, aunts; Lydia Harris, Georgetta Crispin, Judy Large, Audrey Sage, Emily Neido, Pam Enos, Joy Ortegon, uncles; Terry Enos, George Enos, 4 sisters; Ernestine Littletree, Pauline Posey, Rose Siers, Ruby Posey, brothers, Myron Littlebird, Ernest Posey III, Ivan Posey, Ivan Tinno, Delphine Clair, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Iva (Nacota) Posey, grandmother Maude Posey, aunt, Bernice Posey, brothers Maynard Posey, Daniel Posey, Michael Posey, sisters; Nola Posey, great granddaughter; Anica.
