Daniel Maurice Logue

Daniel Maurice Logue died December 20, 2015 after a 15 year battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He died peacefully at home with his family at his side. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Mount Hope Hudson's Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday December 23rd at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander.

He was born April 11, 1932 in Lander, Wyoming to Maurice (Morrey) and Loretta (Mahoney) Logue. He was a lifelong resident of Lander, attending and graduating from Fremont County Vocational High School in 1951. He joined the U.S. Navy in March 1952 serving in the Korean conflict aboard the U.S.S Yancey. He was honorably discharged in July 1955.

Dannie started working for Mountain Bell on a line crew traveling to various towns for two years. He then went to work as an installer repairman in Lander. He installed the first rotary dial phone in the town, and retired in 1992 after 35 years of service.

Dannie married Phyllis (Beebe) Davis on October, 19, 1957 in Fort Washakie, Wyoming. They were married for 58 years.

After retiring from the phone company he started wildland firefighting. He was a member of the Wild West Team (Wyoming Engine Strike Team) fighting wildfires across the western U.S. and Florida until his Illness prevented him from continuing. Dannie joined the Lander Volunteer Fire Department in 1962. He held many ranks over his 51 year career, which included serving as fire chief twice. Dannie was honored at the local, state, and national levels for his 50 years of volunteer service, and retired from fighting fires in 2013. He also worked for Fremont Motor Company delivering vehicles all over Wyoming and the surrounding states.

He will be remembered by family and friends for his sense of humor, antics and the ever present cigar.

He is survived by his wife: Beebe, Daughters: Christine (Michael) Dick, Gayle Logue, Hope (Pete) Peralta. Sons: Mike (Audrey) Logue, Pete (Tammy) Logue. Grandchildren: Eric (Lauren) Logue, Morrey (Hanna) Logue, Emily (Jonah) Logue, Amanda (Ryan) Matthews, Adrienne Matthews, Alyssa Logue, Benjamin Logue, Seth Russell, Lyndsey (Jake) Christian, and Brenna Johnson. Great-Grandchildren: Reece, Charly, Leah, Cami, Caleb, and Anna. Also survived by his sister, Lorraine (Lloyd) Day, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family members. He is also survived by his faithful dogs: Wolfe and Sasha.
