Daniel Brecount Bertagnolli

Daniel BreCount Bertagnolli, age 78, of Fort Washakie, WY, passed on April 7, 2016 at his home in Fort Washakie. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, 6th and Cascade in Lander, WY. Visitation will be held between 4:00-7:00 on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home.
Daniel was born April 29, 1937 to Livio Joseph Bertagnolli and Helen Belle Connett in Rock Springs, Sweetwater, WY.
Dan graduated from Fremont Co. Vocational High School in Lander in 1955. Joined the Navy where he served on a Mine Sweep vessel until his honorable discharge in January 1961. Dan spent 44 years selling John Deere equipment. There wasn't much he couldn't tell you about parts and repairs.
Dan served on the Winter Fair Board and as a Hudson City Councilman. During this time he participated in Horseshoe pitching and bowling tournaments; took care of his mother until her passing, raising his nephew Michael and niece, Margaret. Michael credits Dan for keeping him on the right path.
On December 26, 1998 Dan ended his 61 years of bachelorhood when he married Donna D. Twitchell. He immediately inherited a family and became Papa Dan. Dan and Donna were married 17 years residing at Fort Washakie, which Dan called home until is Passing.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include: wife, Donna; brothers, Jack (Judith) Bertagnolli; and children, Karla and Kimi, Joe Bertagnolli, and children Tara, Torri, Troy; sister, Mary (Floyd) Jensen, and children, Robbie Joe and Kathy. Stepdaughters, Diane Robinson and children, Tanya (Todd) Nevin, Austin, Gerrit, Wyatt; Debbie (David) White and children, Angelica and Marissa. Nephew, Michael (Paula) Stewart; his NASCAR Racing partner, Kimi (Tadd) Deflicie; plus numerous other nieces, nephews and their spouses.
