Dale T. Russell

Dale T. Russell, 74, of Searchlight NV and Lander WY passed away March 16, 2025, in Las Vegas NV, with his beloved wife Linda by his side. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend will always be remembered for his fun, loving approach to life.

Dale was born April 13, 1950, to Melvin M. Russell and Anna P. Russell in Payson UT. At the age of 12, the Russell family moved to Lander WY, where Dale attended Lander Vocational School. One of his first jobs was working for Culligan which earned him one of many nicknames "The Culligan man". After school, Dale moved on from Culligan and joined his dad, who worked for US Steel for several years until the closure of the mine. Dale worked several different jobs in different states over the years until finally landing in Searchlight NV, where he worked for Molly Corp as an equipment operator until his retirement in 2010. He also proudly served both volunteer fire departments in Searchlight and Lander Rural. He enjoyed the outdoors, splitting his time between Searchlight and Lander, spending time in the desert and in the mountains. He always loved springtime in the desert when the hummingbirds would gather at his feeders and all the wildflowers were in full bloom. Dale met the love of his life in Searchlight, the lovely Linda Leeper. Friends had arranged for him to get a singing telegram for his birthday. Linda arrived and sang Happy Birthday. It was love at first sight. He asked her to dinner and the rest is history. Dale's spirited and caring approach to life and family will be missed by all.

Dale is survived by his wife Linda Leeper Russell, her family, her mother and 6 siblings, his 2 sons Jason Cuningham and Colte (Terry) Russell, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his brother Gerald (Claudia) Russell, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both his parents and sisters Jana L Roupe and Arlene Russell.

Per Dale's request, there are no formal services scheduled, instead, there will be 3 separate celebrations of life in Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. Places and times are to be determined. Before Dale passed, he said, "Be happy and laugh".
