Fort Washakie

Cory Lee Enos

With heavy hearts we share the passing of Cory Enos, who left us far too soon on April 20, 2025, at just 17 years old in Fort Washakie, WY.

Born on January 10, 2008, in Lander, WY to Antoinette Jorgenson and Will Enos, Cory grew up in Fort Washakie, where he made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Whether he was out riding his dirt bike, riding his horse, or teasing his family with a mischievous grin, and ordering "Jimmy" and Lenzo around, Cory lived life with a full and fearless spirit.

Cory was known for his deep love of relay racing and horses—riding with pride for Yellowbeads, War Chiefs, Coby, and Enos Relay. A proud "rez kid," he helped his relatives with cattle and branding and found joy in the rhythm of that life. From the Lander Junior Football League to Tiny Tot b-ball and youth basketball for the Fort Washakie Eagles, from dirt biking to video games, Cory was adventurous and full of enthusiasm and energy wherever he went.

Cory had a big personality, playfully tough, hilariously mischievous, but always full of love. He was the kind of kid who could drive you crazy one moment and make you laugh the next. He kept us all on our toes, and we loved every second of it.

He proudly carried the legacy of his ancestors, as a direct descendant of Chief Little Wolf and Chief Wild Hog of the Northern Cheyenne.

Cory is survived by his loving parents, Will Enos and Antoinette Jorgenson; his brothers, E.J., Kenyon, and Jeremy Enos; special friend, Lala Preacher; grandmothers, Mary Enos, Jody Jorgenson, and Stephanie Harris; grandfathers, Glen Enos and Tim Miller; great-grandparents, Corky Griswold, Charlene Tillman, and Rose Dillard; and a large extended family that includes the families of Weed, White, Eagle, Red Cherries, Posey, Jorgenson, Costa, Griswold, Spurlock, Burnett, St. Clair and Underwood. He leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and adopted relatives who all loved him.

Cory now joins loved ones who went before him: his brothers, Eagle Boy Soaring and Soaring Red Hawk Enos; his aunt, Cori Enos; great-grandmother, Edith Griswold; grandmother, Janet Marshall; great-grandparents, Dub and Barbara Enos, and Kenneth Jorgenson, Arvin Jorgenson; grandfathers, John Enos, and Warren Jorgenson; uncle, Jeremy Jorgenson; grandmothers, Vernissa and Marlissa Jorgenson and Ruby Posey.

A wake will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., at Mary Enos's residence, 81 Ethete Rd. Funeral Services will follow on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., also at 81 Ethete Rd., with a feast to follow. All are welcome to come to honor Cory's life and spirit.
