Constance Ellen "Connie" King of Lander, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 in Cheyenne, Wyoming after battling Alzheimer's for several years. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 30 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander, Wyoming.
Connie was born to Clarence (Bud) & Gaylin Carpenter on April 25, 1957 in Lander, Wyoming.She grew up on the family ranch southeast of Lander and was a graduate of Lander Valley High School.After high school Connie married Greg Heil on August 25, 1976.They had two children, Austin and Derrick Heil, and they lived in and around Riverton area.The couple divorced in 1985. Connie then met L. Joe King and left Wyoming living in San Angelo, Texas; Montrose, Colorado; Huron, South Dakota and Loveland, Colorado.They were married on August 16, 1997 and later returned to Lander in the Fall of 2006, as Connie desired to be near her family again.
Connie is survived by her husband, Joe King, her mother Gaylin Carpenter of Lander, her brother C. E. and his wife Terry Carpenter of Cheyenne, sons Austin, his wife Stacie and Derrick Heil both of Billings, Montana, Grandchildren Hailey, Devon, Beau and Kallie; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence "Bud" Carpenter; grandparents Clarence and Edna Carpenter; grandparents Clyde and Lois Scott.
