Memorial Services for Clyde Arden Rood of Lander will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday August. 21, at the Veterans Memorial, Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander. Pastor Steve Hermes of First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Mr. Clyde Rood passed away August 14, 2008. He was 86 years old.
Clyde Arden Rood was born in Keeline, Wyoming on July 20, 1922 the son of Pearl M. (McDonald) Rood and Oscar Albert Rood. He attended the Manville High School and Graduated in 1940. He then retired from owning and operating Clyde?s car wash on Main Street in Lander. Clyde was in the U.S. Navy, aboard the Battleship Pennsylvania; he enlisted September 1, 1943 and discharged December 29, 1945. He was a fisherman and hunter, but his greatest love was to be with family and friends and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Clyde will be remembered by his good sense of humor.
Survivors include his son, Terry Rood, Sister Irene and Woody Glandt, daughter, Cayse Dick, Susan Nolan, Teesha and Family, Marie Campbell his 20yr Companion, various Family and Friends. He is preceded in death by first wife Rita Rood, mother Pearl Rood, father Oscar Rood, Sister Edna Mae Shippen, brother Kenneth Rood, Lloyd Rood, Wife Shirley Rood, and son Gary Welsh.
