Clyde L. (Skip) Kear Jr. was born to Clyde Sr. and Marion (Lamey) Kear on October 11, 1939. He was self-employed for most of his life in several businesses. Skip also drove the Senior Center bus for several years. He enjoyed the out-of-doors and spent a great deal of time in the woods, hunting, fishing and camping.
Skip dedication to the Dubois Lion's club for over 35 years was his biggest contribution to the community. He was very proud of helping others in need, especially local kids who needed eye glasses. Skip spent countless hours seeking donations to the Dubois Lion's in which the funds were used to assist many members of the Dubois Community with eye care. Skip was the essence of the spirit in the Dubois Lion's.
Skip was awarded the Melvin Jones Award in which the Lions Clubs International recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing on them an award that is named for its founder, Melvin Jones. This Fellowship Award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism.
Skip is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris Miller Kear, sister Roween and Jerry Allen and family, sister in law, Linda Kear and family, Son, Allen Bard and daughters, Roxy Skogen and Becky Overman. He has 10 grandchilden.
Cremation has taken place as per his wishes and the family will have a service at a later time this summer.
