Clarlene Michele Peil

Clarlene M. Peil, of Lander, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, in her home after a battle with brain cancer. She was 52 years old.
A viewing will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. The service begins at 11 a.m.
Clarlene Michele Peil was born Aug. 29, 1960, in Lander, the daughter of T.C. Allen and Clydene Allen.
She attended South Elementary and graduated from Lander Valley High School. She was a member of the Lander Valley Tiger Marching Band and played solo on the flute. She also skied for LVHS. She spent a summer traveling seven European countries with her family and friends.
In 1978 she was the honored Queen of Job's Daughters.
She attended Central Wyoming College where she was the president of the student council. She continued her education at the University of Wyoming, earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education/learning disabilities. She then furthered her education at the University of Arizona, obtaining a master's degree in learning disabilities.
She taught in Tucson, Ariz., and then returned to Lander to teach at West Elementary and Gannett Peak Elementary.
She married Randolph E. Peil in May 1984 in Lander.
Her family said she loved to garden, read and watch romantic comedies. She also enjoyed the great outdoors. Her passion was teaching and loving her family.
She was a devout Christian.
She is survived by her sons, Craig L. Peil and Derek R. Peil, and her siblings, Woodrow Allen, Jim Allen, Sally Allen, Crosby Allen and Phillip Allen.
She was preceded in death by her father, T.C. Allen, and brother Richard Todd Allen.
