Cheryl Tams obituary

Cheryl Tams, age 65, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in Lander, Wyoming. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Mike. She is lovingly survived by her mother, Linda; her siblings, Janet and Darrin (Sandy); her nieces, Heather (Cody) and Ashley; and her two great-nephews.

Cheryl was a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lander, where her gentle spirit and warm smile were well known and deeply cherished.

Cheryl was born and grew up in Denver, Colorado, where she attended a community services program called Hope Center. In 1983, she moved with her family to Lander. Soon after arriving, she became involved with Community Entry Services (CES), where she remained an active and beloved resident for the rest of her life. Through CES, Cheryl enjoyed car rides, picnics, camping trips, and many arts and crafts projects, especially latch hook. She was proud to participate as an athlete in Special Olympics, and her enthusiasm and determination were an inspiration to those around her.

With the support of CES, Cheryl worked at the Neat Repeat thrift store and at a bank shredding paper. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed being part of the community. She also delighted in dancing, going on family vacations, cheering on the Denver Broncos with enthusiasm, and showing off her fancy manicured fingernails, which she loved to display with a bright smile. Her joy and kindness will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A memorial service is being scheduled for January 9, 2026, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 875 Fremont St, Lander, WY.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Community Entry Services (CES) of Lander supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries in the State of Wyoming.
