Cheryl Lee Armstrong Hart

July 18, 1946--April 27, 2009

Cheryl Armstrong Hart, 62, loving mother and grandmother, died of cancer on April 27, 2009. In the past few months, loving siblings, children, grandchildren and close friends surrounded her. Her dream was to be surrounded by unified and close family members, which was fulfilled, and a source of great satisfaction to her. She accepted her situation and felt like she was "graduating".

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Roland J. Hart of Lander, her five children, Jeffrey Navarro, John Herr, Scott Herr all from Denver, Julie Stipe of Novi, Michigan, and James Herr currently in Moscow, Russia.   Stepchildren, Peter Hart, Juliet Woodworth, and Susan Templeton living near Salt Lake City and Brianna Bonilla of Hudson; siblings Ralph Armstrong II of StGeorge, Utah, and Madelynn Arvizu and Yvette Ducheny, of San Diego; and 16 grandchildren survive her. Her parents, Ralph Noble Armstrong and Idella McArthur Armstrong preceded her in death.

Cheryl's father made a career as an Army Officer, so although she was born in Salt Lake, she grew up at many military posts across the United States, and lived in France and learned French between the ages of 5 and 8. As a child, she spent two years in Lovell, Wyoming, with her grandmother, after returning from France, due to her father's military assignments. In high school her family settled in San Diego, California.

Cheryl was a talented Executive Secretary for a number of years, and she was good with computer software. In Lander the past 10 years, she worked at the Barney Law Office and Cabin Fever Books, sewing designer aprons and apparel. She enjoyed gardening, dramatics, dancing, singing, and a variety of homemaking skills, including home decorating, cooking many healthful foods, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.

Throughout her life Cheryl was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and provided service to children in the Primary and Cub Scout organizations, to youth in mutual and Sunday School organizations and to adult women, serving as Relief Society President in Lander from 2002-2005. She loved to scrapbook to document family activities and to help with her family histories. She was an active participant in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Funeral services will be held at the Lander First Ward Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6 th and Cascade Streets, at 11:00 am, Friday May 1, 2009. Family and friends may gather in the Relief Society room an hour ahead of the service. A short graveside service will be held the next day in Lovell, WY at 11:00 am in the Lovell cemetery where she will be buried near her parents.
