Charles "Chappy" R. Heider
Heider, Charles R., "Chappy" passed in peace Wed., July 31, 2013 at the age of 99, in Lander WY at the Westward Heights Care Center. Born September 29, 1913 in Johnstown. Son of Edward L. and Anna B. (Custer) Heider. He is preceded in death by parents; his wife, Florence M. (Nichols) Heider and granddaughter Annie Kline. Survived by daughter Louise (Pixie), married to Bruce Kline of Lander WY; grandchildren Melissa (Missy) married to Jason Walker of Gillette WY and Cody Kline married to Kathryn Loughan of Boulder CO; and great-grandchildren Isaiah and Malerie Walker. Chappie was a retired yardmaster for Conemaugh and BlackLick Railroad. He was a faithful member of the Calvary Methodist Church. Chappy was a trustee and life member of the Johnstown Elks Lodge #175. He was also a member of the Menoher Post 155 VFW. He was a US Army Veteran having served with the 20th Armored Division. In 2010 Chappy moved from his hometown of Johnstown PA to Lander WY to be with his daughter. At the request of the family, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a graveside memorial service on Saturday August 10, 2013 at Grandview Cemetery at 10:30 am. The family would like to thank the community for a lifetime of help and happiness.
