Carol Rose "Cookie" Darrough of Lander, WY, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016.
Carol Was born June 25, 1925 in Oakland, California to Charles and Rosalie DePaoli. Shortly after her father's death in 1927, the family moved to Eureka, Nevada and she lived there until her high school graduation. She married
Raymond "Lee" Darrough October 5, 1943. They worked on various ranches and construction, moving to lander in 1960 when Lee went to work for US steel. They owned a small ranch near Table Mountain and then moved to Sinks Canyon until Lee passed away in 2001. Carol then moved to Lynne Gardens in Lander until this past December.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, crossword puzzles and taking care of animals her whole life. She had many friends and will be missed by all.
Survivors include her three children, Ray (Shirley) Darrough, Rapid City, Lynn (Jay) Walton, Salt Lake City, Jodi Darrough, Lander; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no services. Donations may be made in her name to The Lander Pet Connection PO BOX 854 Lander, WY82520 and Help for Health Hospice 1240 College View Drive, Riverton, WY82501.
