Betty Van Alstine of Jeffrey City, Wyoming and Pittsville, Wisconsin died with family at her side on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home, Lander, Wyoming with her brother Bill Allen officiating.
Betty was born on August 28, 1944 in Casper, Wyoming to Marvin and Dorthy (Shroyer) Allen. She was raised on the Pitchfork Ranch near Meeteetse.
She married Don Richmond in Cheyenne, Wyoming and had two daughters Dawn Lee Graham, Deanna Kerns, and step-daughter Letha Gaudern.
She later married Gary Beck. They lived in Thermopolis, Jeffrey City, and Douglas until his death.
She then married Jon Van Alstine, they lived in both Wisconsin and Jeffrey City.
Betty held many jobs over the years enjoying the most the volunteer work at the Bethel Nursing Home, she also enjoyed her horses, yard, flowers, cooking, and caring for her family. She was active in the Jeffrey City Fire Auxiliary and Branch of the County Library.
She is survived by husband, Jon; children, Dawn Lee Graham, Deanna Kerns, and Letha Gaudern ; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Duke Allen of Thermopolis, Bill Allen (Vicky) of Hobbs, New Mexico; special aunt, Donna Shroyer of Rapid City, South Dakota; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by parents; brother, Mike; and granddaughter, Nicole.
