Barbara Lene Armour, 79, of Kinnear, WY passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 in Casper, WY.

The visitation will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Boy's and Girl's Club in Fort Washakie (9 Shipton Ln, Fort Washakie, WY 82514).

Following the visitation, an all-night wake will take place at the family home (1548 Paint Brush Loop, Fort Washakie, WY 82514).

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the Boy's and Girl's Club in Fort Washakie (9 Shipton Ln, Fort Washakie, WY 82514).

Barbara Lene Armour passed away in Casper, WY on September 28, 2024. Barbara was 79 years old. Wake Service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 6pm at Eastern Shoshone Boys & Girls Club 9 Shipton Lane Road, Fort Washakie, WY with an overnight awake to follow at Kimberly Ferris Residence 1548 Paintbrush Loop Fort Washakie, WY. Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday October 4, 2024, at Eastern Shoshone Boys & Girls Club with internment at Sacajawea Cemetery. Feast to follow at Eastern Shoshone Boys & Girls Club.

Barbara was born May 7, 1945, in Lander, Wyoming to the late John & Annie Shoyo-Tidzump.

Barbara was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation. She attended school at Lander Valley High School. In her younger years she enjoyed horseback riding with her sisters and traditional dancing. She worked for the Eastern Shoshone Tribe for many years, but her passion was teaching the Eastern Shoshone culture and language to the younger generations. Barbara enjoyed gambling, hand games, traveling, pow wows, relay racing, and watching her grandchildren play sports. She believed and participated in her traditional ceremonies. Her favorite hangout was Wal-Mart to visit her friends and family.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Don) Ferris; nephews Leland Hill, Sr., Steve Hill, Garth Bear Jr., and Blaine Bear; nieces Kathy Hill, Leana May Copperfield, Rosa Duran, Venora Upshaw, Lauriann Yazzie, Tereasa Bear, Ada bush, and Adeania Bush; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; the families of Tidzump, Shoyo, McGill, Armajo, Washakie, Bush (White Rocks, UT), Bear (Skull Valley, UT), Perry, Noseep and Black.

Preceded in death by her parents John and Annie Tidzump; husband Bruce Armour; brother Gans Gene Tidzump; sisters Mary Ann Tillman, Melinda Tidzump; daughter Sharlee Dawn Armour; aunt Evelyn McGill; uncles Dennis Shoyo, Ben Shoyo, Roy Shoyo, Harrison Shoyo Sr., Charlie Bush, Sam Bush, and Vernon Bear; cousins Adolph Frederick Bush, Viola Annabelle Bush-Smith, Jeffery Sidney Bush, Shirley Lena Bush, Samuel Joe Bush, Geraldine Bush Cuch, Alfred Bush, Garth Bear Sr.; nephews Herbie, Herman, Richard Tidzump, Kenneth Hill, Eric Bush Sr., and Troy Tingey; nieces Samantha, Anna Marie Bush; grandchildren Uriah Greyeyes, John Roy Tidzump, Roger Upshaw Jr., Bud Perry and Mabeline Yazzie, and Trisha "Nikki" Clark; great-grandchildren 3 Baby Hills, Rylan and Liam Upshaw.
