Aurelia Joyce Hutchinson

Aurelia "Joyce" WallowingBull Hutchinson, 81, of Ethete WY passed away August 3, 2025 surrounded by family at her home in Ethete. A visitation will be held at 7pm-9pm (Rosary to start at 7pm) on Thursday, August 7th at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete. An all-night wake will follow at the family home located at 217 Willow Street in Ethete. Funeral services will begin at 10am on Friday, August 8th at Blue Sky Hall with burial to follow at the WallowingBull family cemetery.

Aurelia "Joyce" WallowingBull Hutchinson was born December 18, 1943 to Fred and Jane WallowingBull in Fort Washakie, WY. Her Indian name was Ni'oxu'unesei, Sweet Grass Woman. She attended school at St. Michael's mission. She married Burton Hutchinson Sr. Joyce was baptized Episcopalian and was a member of the Native American Church. She served as a CHR driver and she worked as a cook at the Senior Citizens Center for 16 years in Ethete. Her hobbies included sewing, beading, picking berries, cooking, traveling and enjoyed being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a foster parent to many and helped raised many of her nieces/ nephews & grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Trumbull, Melva & Mervene Brown, Janie (Jim) & Eleanor Brown, Karen & Helen ReturnsToWar and Cheryl Rouillard. Sons, Steve SunRhodes

Sr (Kathy), & Fred WallowingBull. Adopted daughters Sherilyn Hebah & Deidra CrazyThunder, Francinda, Cecelia & Dianne WallowingBull. Sisters, Gloria St. Clair & Laverne White. She helped raise Cassandra & Cori Duran and her grandson Tracy A. CrazyThunder. Adopted sister Karen Loker. Adopted relatives through Native American Church. Joyce and Burton were adopted parents to numerous family and friends that they took as their own, their home was always open to many and they all became family. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Austin, Whitney & Tracie CrazyThunder, Emanual, Tashina & Gina Duran. Kiana & MoutainRain WallowingBull, Glorietta Duran. Alvonia McElroy & Steve SunRhodes Jr, Katarina, Jonielle & Jordan Trumbull.

Great grandchildren Kayleene, Jade, LittleRaven, Danni, Houneen, Alden, Sean, Nanibaa, Marcellus, Johnson, Nykeen, Eliah, Chordlen, Ron, Larissa & Jaden, Cetan Hotanka, Takara, Surae, Marysa, Amara & Braylon, Kylaya & Keith Jr., Lailoni, Madison, DancingBear & Bexlee. Marcus & Boniface. Joeli, Jaeli & Zayin. Dallen, Sonny & Casey. And also 6 great great grandchildren.

She is also is survived by the WallowingBull, Hutchinson, Groesbeck/ ReturnsToWar, Brown, Smith, Jenkins, Gambler, and White families.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Burton Hutchinson Sr, parents Fred & Jane WallowingBull, daughter Tina Rose Brown, brothers, Jo Pat, Daniel Francis and Clayton WallowingBull. Sisters Irma Groesbeck, Vivian "Lucy", Elizabeth "Pearl", Emma Jane and Agnes WallowingBull, Beatrice "Bea" LongVisitor HolyDance WeaselBear. Grandsons, Billy CrazyThunder Jr, Sonny Jacob Duran, Kayden James Primeaux & Brandon J. WallowingBull. Great Grandson Tyler B. CrazyThunder, and numerous nieces and nephews.
