Anthony Paul Hopper was born on September 7, 1968 to Velma Jean Rhodes (Hopper) in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised in San Diego, CA and Ballston, New York when he was young, but Wind River was his home.
Tony was a part of the ShoRap firefighters, he enjoyed jumping out of the helicopters, a generation knows him as Mr. Hopper for his subbing at Wyoming Indian Schools. His favorite line of work was his masonary (brick work) jobs. During bowling season you could have caught him at Silver Spurs Lanes with TNA. During the softball season, you could find him at any softball diamond ready to play for his team or even sub. He loved to compete in horse shoe tournaments and occasionally played in pool tournaments. He dominated 10,000.
Anthony enjoyed going to the mountain to camp and fish or even just to be there. Being big brother he had his battles, but he loved his siblings. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all his children and his grandchildren… A beloved brother, uncle, father, grandpa, and friend.
Anthony is survived by his a stepdad, Terrance Rhodes; aunty Thelma LittleWhiteman; his daughters, Drenda Jean Hebah, Constance Toni Hebah, Jubelle Hebah, Brittany HollowHorn, Courtney Hebah, Chloe Trosper, Jonelle “Nugget” Friday; sons, Isaiah Thomas Spoonhunter “Button”, Ricky Goodleft; brothers, Harold (Janelle) LittleBear, Matthew (Andrea) Rhodes, Mark Rhodes, Leo Monroe, Mike Hopper, and his sister Shannon Antelope; grandchildren, Lorenzo Hopper, Joseph Wallowingbull, Cloudy Wallowingbull, Patricia Timbana, and Jevon IronEyes as well as numerous brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his great grandma, Inez Oldman; grandma, Diana Grasshopper; aunty, Edith GrassHopper; mother, Velma Jean Rhodes; uncles, Stanley Stow, Willis Whiteman, Darrell Hopper; aunt Mary Edith Whiteman; brothers, Brian “Biggy” Rhodes, Jevon Antelope, Brian St. Clair; nephew, Dale Wayne LittleBear; and his companion, Shawna Bell.
A prayer service will be held at Blue Sky Hall, 490 Ethete Road, Ethete, Wyoming, on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
An all-night wake will immediately follow at the family home, located at 76 Ray Lake Road, Lander, Wyoming.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete.
