Anna May Roe passed away on February 5, 2015, at the Morning Star Nursing Home at Ft. Washakie, Wyo.She was 87 years old.Per her request, there will be no funeral services.Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lander with graveside services in the spring.
Anna May Roe was born September 10, 1927 at Poposia Mine Number 2 near Hudson, Wyoming.She was the fifth child and only daughter of Steve Patik Sr. and Addie Marie (Mills) Patik.She was raised at the Poposia Mine and her early school years were spent at the Lyons Valley School.Her family moved to Lander in 1939 and she continued her education, graduating from Fremont County Vocational High School in 1945.
Anna married Walter D. "Hink" Roe on December 3, 1945 in Lander while he was home on leave from the U.S. Navy.They spent their married life in Lander and were married for 51 years.
Grandma Annie enjoyed making beautiful crocheted tablecloths, Afghans, and bedspreads for all of her family and her many special friends.She was a homemaker and enjoyed following her grandchildren's education and accomplishments in life.She enjoyed music all of her life and played the accordion and piano in her brother's dance band when she was young.
She is survived by daughters, Rosanne (Tim) McKinney and Cheryl (Jerry) Wilson both of Lander; grandchildren, Tim (Jennifer) of Cora, Wyoming, Tara (Brett) Berg of Lander, Lisa Reichert of Riverton, Jami (Cory) Cline of San Tan Valley, Az; great grandchildren, Jake and Jalin McKinney, Spencer and Riley Reichert, Brooke and Brittnee Berg and Carissa Cline; brother, George Patik of Lander; nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends at Homestead Assisted Living in Riverton.She also leaves her very dear friend Donna Shellenberger of Casper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hink in 1997; brothers Steve Jr., Edward, John;and her grandson, Todd McKinney.
