Alys Maxine Hinkle

April 5, 1925 — January 23, 2015

Alys Hinkle, age 89, was born April 5, 1925 and was the second daughter of Hazel (McDowell) and Philip Brandon. Alys passed away January 23, 2015.A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Lander. Internment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Alys was born on the family ranch, on the North Fork River, three miles north of Lander. Alys attended Lander's EL-HI. As a young woman, Alys worked at the local JC Penney store. It was while working there that she met her future husband, Joe Hinkle.

Alys and Joe were married at the Trinity Episcopal Church on October 4, 1948. Alys and Joe were blessed with three children, grandchildren, and great children, most of whom reside in Fremont County.

After marrying, Alys joined Joe at American Industrial Laundry. Alys managed the business office while raising her family with Joe. She saw the need for improved customer service at American Industrial Laundry, so she became a self-taught seamstress and then an accomplished and talented tailor, heading up that division of the family business.

Alys was active in the Lander community, such as Eastern Star and Trinity Episcopal Church. Alys had many hobbies; she loved to china paint, work stained glass, and collect art pieces. She was a pet lover, and always enjoyed having dogs around her house. Alys was especially fond of spending time with her loved ones and hosting family get-togethers.

Alys is survived by her husband, Joe Hinkle; daughter, Dana Hinkle; grandchildren, Jess Hinkle, Sarah (Hinkle) Cassity, and Cale and Beth (Breining) Hinkle; great grandchildren, Camden Hutson and Taylor Cassity. Preceding Alys in sleep were her two sons Donald Hinkle and David Hinkle.

Alys will be carried to her final resting place by Cale Hinkle, Charles Hutson, Scott Johnson, Allen Enos, Todd Fross, and Jack Finley
