Ada Marie Compton

Ada Marie Compton, 83, of Ft. Washakie, WY, died on 5-31-16, in Lander, WY, at Sage West Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 at the Rock Hall, Ft. Washakie, WY.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm, Monday, May 6th, 2016 at the Rock Hall, Ft. Washakie, WY.

Ada Marie (Snyder) Compton was born 10-19-32 to Ben Snyder and Nancie V. Long Snyder in Ft. Washakie, WY.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nancie V. & Ben Snyder Sr; siblings Roy J. Snyder, Samuel Snyder, Ronald Snyder Sr., Nancy Miller Cole, and Ben Snyder; significant other, Harvey Breedlove;Winifred Karen Smith, daughter; Dawn Leann Hollenbeck, granddaughter.

Survivors include Kathryn Ferris Lone Fight, sister, Ft. Washakie, WY; her children: Elizabeth (William) Trannum, Ft. Washakie, WY, Bradley Compton, Ft. Washakie, WY, Allen (Lisa) Compton, Sioux Falls, SD, Robert Compton, Coulee Dam, WA, Pamala Dotson, Ft. Washakie, WY; Mildred Snyder, life-long friend and sister-in-law, Ft. Washakie, WY; and numerous extended family including nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ada attended Lander Valley Vocational and took post-secondary administrative courses in Riverton. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a seamstress specializing in mastectomy bras for cancer survivors and as a cook at the Senior Citizens Center.Ada enjoyed traveling and living in new places.Her children remember many of these interesting adventures.Where ever the family was, it felt like home because Ada made sure she made fry bread, stew, cinnamon rolls & fruit cakes. Ada loved to sew, quilt, crochet, bead, bake, can, read and participate in outdoor activities with her family.
